Egon SCHIELE

Egon SCHIELE, Self-portrait.

Egon SCHIELE was an Austrian painter and draftsman. He was born in 1890 in Tulln an der Donau, Austria, and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Schiele was a prominent member of the Austrian avant-garde and is considered a major figure in the development of Expressionism. He was heavily influenced by the work of Gustav Klimt, and his own work is characterized by a bold and emotive use of line and color. Schiele's paintings and drawings often depict twisted, distorted human figures in poses that are both erotic and emaciated. He died in 1918 in Vienna during the Spanish flu pandemic. He was 28 years old.

His well-known artworks look very modern on the metal surface and definitely can make an amazing focal point in any interior.
